April 19-22, 2012
  Red Top Mountian State Park
Pioneer Campground

Arrive April 19th - gate opens at 3PM.

Attention Beltane Bashers!

We are all super ready to have some great fun! Below are some details that you might have missed in all the postings or on the website.

We will be in the primitive campground. That means no electricity and no plumbing. If you are camping, you will need to consider this when packing your fans, heaters, mattresses, etc. Most amenities can be handled with propane gas or batteries. (I know this because when I camp I don’t rough it. My husband says I homestead.)

As for the bathrooms, well….the park has outhouses in the campground. They stock them with something resembling bath tissue but if you are picky, you might bring your own. There are also bathrooms available at the Visitor’s Center, about a 5 minute drive.

We will have a food vendor at the festival for Friday and Saturday, the two days of festivities serving continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. You are welcome to bring your own food but please keep in mind that our food vendor is splitting the proceeds with the Pagan Assistance Fund so we want to support that as much as possible.

Vendors will have vendor row full of all sorts of fun things to purchase. There will be a carnival game center for the children to play. Bring your change – it’s a quarter a play. The children earn tickets (everybody is winner) to turn in at the prize table for a selection of fun prizes.

We have craft activities happening – no age limit here. So, plan on having some craft fun with your children.

Entertainment – We have performances by Reactor, Runedog, Lucidian, Rowen Thorndragon & Suzanna Higham.

Workshops – We have workshops on Ethics & Cosmic Law, Chants, Huna – The Secret Science, Pagan Prison Ministry, Healthy Eating Lifestyle, Meditation, Faeiries and Drumming, Dancing and Chanting, Mojo’s, and Wandmaking.

We have two rituals planned – Opening Ritual on Friday and Main Ritual on Saturday evening. Ritual-wear is encouraged but not necessary. Street clothes are fine.

Drumming circle – for those of you that remember last year we had a super drumming circle with lots of drumming, dancing and just good all around fun. Kira Lang and V have graciously agreed to come back this year and kick off our drum circle so let’s all bring our drums, rattles, instruments, noisemakers and booties to shake around the fire for more of the same loud, rowdy fun!

The schedule is as follows (but can change some if the need arises)

Thursday – 3:00PM – Registration opens for check-in - so all you campers that want to make a long weekend of it and vendors that want to get an early start at setting up and selling come on out!

7:00PM – gather round the campfire for hotdog/marshmallow roasting and getting to know you time.

Friday – 10AM – Festival officially opens. Vendors will be selling (although, if they want to start selling early and stay open late, we have no problem with that)

Please remember that we are in a state park at a family friendly event so this is NOT a clothing optional event.

On another note – while we do ask that people not engage in drunken behavior, alcohol is allowed in the primitive campground because it is a private, rented space. You just need to keep it in the campground and not drink out in the public areas of the park.

This is a rain or shine event so rainy weather will not result in refunds.

Just a reminder that the bash is being held at Red Top Mountain State Park, a Georgia State Park. That means we have to deal with that pesky parking pass issue. We will have some of those at registration to make it easy to deal with or you can get yours at the Visitor’s Center or Park Office. They run $5 per car.

If you haven’t bought your ticket it is not too late! You can purchase them online at http://beltanebash.ngsolitaries.com until midnight April 17. Tickets will also be available at the gate but the price will go up to the gate price at that point.
